Day 2 in Matosinhos - Touring the city and promoting reclycling

On Tuesday we did an incredible amount of things such as some activities in the school, touring Matosinhos and eating in new places.

First of all,  we did an activity to "break the ice" with the Portuguese that was about resolving as many challenges as possible from a list of challenges in only 15 minutes. After getting to know each other better, we moved to the next activity, which was a tour around Matosinhos.

We saw some famous places from Matosinhos such as a graffiti named "Freedom fighter”, the long and wonderful beach, which is famous for being an excellent place to practice surf, and an artistic installation placed in a roundabout named “She changes” which represents a jellyfish made with the net used by the fishermen.

We also passed by the Parque da Cidade do Porto and the Sea Life Aquarium and had the opportunity to enter the castle we saw yesterday to enjoy the views from the top of the fortress. Before the rain forced us to finish the tour, the students brought us to Plaça Guilherme Pinto where there is the "Memorial to the workers of the canning industry" represented by a shoal of large metallic fish and the reminiscent of a chimney.

After walking for a long time we finally sat down in a restaurant to eat a healthy Poke Bowl. Then we walked to the school again to do an activity about recycling. Some of us painted a banner with inspiring quotes and drawings. The other students recycled fish cans to transform them into customized ashtrays.

One of the last things we did was going to a coffee shop to have a snack, and after that we had free time before having dinner. We went tu O27, a restaurant where we tried traditional dishes such as codfish and Francesinhas.

This was a great day, we had so many activities to do and we enjoyed them so much.
